With the new Open-Q™ 8550CS SOM Development Kit, Lantronix facilitates the comprehensive evaluation of the powerful Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ QCS8550 SOC. The kit is designed for developing demanding edge AI applications such as e.g. industrial drones, autonomous mobile robots, smart camera systems or cloud gaming solutions.
The Open-Q™ 8550CS SOM Development Kit is centered around the Open-Q™ 8550CS System on Module (SOM), which is equipped with 48 INT8 and 12 FP16 TOPs computing power, an energy-efficient 4nm process and an 8th generation AI engine. With up to 5.8 Gbit/s Wi-Fi 7 and a wide range of interfaces, it is perfectly suited for demanding, heterogeneous edge computing applications.
With the development kit, developers have perfect support in testing the diverse functions of the Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ QCS8550 SOC such as the low-power AI subsystems with always-on functionality for audio, cameras and sensors. It also provides an open carrier board with access to all I/Os to ensure flexible and practical product development.
